The first eight matches aired on WCW Saturday Night on TBS. This event happened on a Saturday, instead of the normal Sunday night. The main event was Hollywood Hogan defending the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against The Giant. Also notable was a match between The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) versus Sting & Lex Luger. Uncensored 1996 took place on March 24, 1996 from the Tupelo Coliseum in Tupelo, Mississippi. The idea behind this event is that each match is unsanctioned, with a heavy emphasis on gimmick matches. The main event was The Mega Powers (Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage) versus The Alliance to End Hulkamania (an 8 man team that included Ric Flair, Arn Anderson, Meng, The Barbarian, Lex Luger, The Taskmaster, Z-Gangsta, and The Ultimate Solution) in a Doomsday Cage match. This Swan Lake was the unexpected popular hit of 1996, when radical choreographer Matthew Bourne took Tchaikovsky's traditional ballet by the scruff of the neck and reworked it with a myriad of modern influences and themes to astonishing effect. Seldom have the dark psychological riptides at the heart of so many classical ballets been so brilliantly exposed. The Prince (Scott Ambler) is a wretched and dissolute young man dominated by his mother, the Joan Collins-like Queen (Fiona Ambler). Shades of Tennessee Williams, indeed. Von Rothbart becomes a press secretary, more sinister éminence grise than hissable villain. Most startling of all, The Swan (Adam Cooper) is a muscular, emphatically masculine male.
Short film by Pierre-Yves Vandeweerd produced for the 2014 Visions du réel film festival in Switzerland.
When they write the story of the 1996 World Series, don't be surprised if they write about the heart of a champion. Like the Atlanta Braves, who year after year return to the fall classic on the strength of the best starting pitchers in baseball. And the New York Yankees--A clever mix of youth and veterans--gritty, resilient, and very likeable. Don't be caught off guard if the heroics of Bernie Williams and Jim Levritz are recanted--or the medical miracle that brought David Cone from the operating room to the most important start of his career. When they write the story of the 1996 World Series, it will tell how the Yankees came to captivate a city by battling back from a two-games-to-none deficit, To win four straight against the defending world champions for its 23rd world title--it's first since 1978.

It was the ninth Starrcade event produced by WCW, and it took place on December 29, 1996 from the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. Other matches featured Lex Luger and The Giant, Diamond Dallas Page and Eddie Guerrero for the vacant WCW United States Heavyweight Championship, The Outsiders and the Faces of Fear for the WCW World Tag Team Championship, and Ultimo Dragon and Dean Malenko to unify the J-Crown Championship and the WCW Cruiserweight Championship.
Part live-action footage, video game sequences, simulated chat, poetic voiceover and virtual landscape, Neon Parallel 1996 is in Rafman’s own words an attempt at creating a “lost vaporwave classic.”
The second ECW live event we're taking a look at is Cyberslam 1996 from February in the ECW Arena. As I can and will likely say a lot around this time, ECW is a promotion in constant transition. Last month they said goodbye to the Public Enemy, Cactus Jack is the next of the big names to get swallowed up by the big two. On the flip side, the New York taping a a couple of weeks prior to the show saw the debut of Bam Bam Bigelow (who was still under contract with the WWF) and this show would see the redebut of Brian Pillman (who did appear for the promotion in 1994). A lot has changed since then, mind.

The series are public awareness films produced by Radio Television Hong Kong, an independent department of the government, with the full co-operation of the ICAC itself. Each series dramatises real cases of the Commission and serves both to educate the populace against corrupt practises and as a public relations tool for the ICAC.
The story deals with several separate yet intertwining story lines, revolving around the protagonists Kiu Fung, Duen Yu and Hui Juk. Duen Yu is a young, naive prince of the Kingdom of Dali. Despite the long tradition of the practice of martial arts in the royal family, he refuses to learn martial arts due to Buddhist influence and his disdain for bloodshed. When his father tries to force him to learn martial arts, he runs away from home. Ironically, he acquires three of the most powerful skills in the novel and becomes immune to poison after consuming the Zhuha, a poisonous toad known as the "king of all venomous creatures". During his adventures, he encounters several beautiful young maidens, who all fell in love with him. Kiu Fung is the charismatic chief of the Beggars' Sect, who possesses strong leadership qualities and exceptional prowess in martial arts. He falls from grace after he is revealed to be a Khitan, and after he is wrongly accused of murdering several fellow martial artists to conceal his identity. He becomes an outcast and the prime enemy of the Han Chinese wulin (martial artists' community). Hui Juk is a monk from the Shaolin Sect, described to have a kind-hearted and submissive nature. He believes strongly in following the Buddhist code of conduct and refuses to break it even when faced with life-threatening situations. He follows his elders to a meeting once, which marks the start of his adventures. Coincidentally, and by sheer luck, Hui Juk breaks a weiqi formation and becomes the successor of the Carefree Sect and inherits the powers of Wuyazi.
